SUSTAINABLE HOUSE DAY

SUSTAINABLE HOUSE DAY 13-14 SEPTEMBER (Australia Wide)

Want to reduce your energy, water and waste needs in the home… but don’t know where to start? Then Sustainable House Day is for you!

There is nothing better than talking to people who have already done it. You can learn the good - and the bad - from the home owner’s personal experience and talk to architects, builders and designers. Once you have experienced living in a home that is cool in summer without air-conditioning, and warm in winter with little or no heating, it’s hard not to get excited.

Come to the FREE introductory seminar on Thursday September 4 at, 6.45pm at Manning Clarke Theatre 1 at the Australian National University. Speakers include: Mick Gentleman MLA; Howard Pender (Managing Director of Australian Ethical Investments) John Robertson  (Land Development Agency); Kelvin Martin – Sustainable Energy Technology at CIT); and representatives from the newly-formed Electric Vehicle Association.

Then visit sustainable schools and offices on Saturday 13, and sustainable houses on Sunday 14 September.

There will be a variety of sustainable living tips on display at the houses open this year. The aim is to motivate, and provide information so you can go home and start implementing some of the fundamentals straight away.

You can find an open house in your neighborhood by going to  ’ House Locations’ on the menu bar at: www.sustainablehouseday.com

Entry is $5 per house visited. Children and ANZSES members receive free admission (bring your membership card).
